Questions of a Stay at Home Mom

Why do babies poop in fresh diapers? The one you just changed less than 5 minutes ago?

How is it that one little boy can manage to pee on his shirt, underwear and shorts/pants all in the same restroom visit?

How is it the children's clothes are clean when you leave the house yet dirty upon arriving at your destination?

I wonder how many times I say these phrases in one day. "Put your underware back on!" And this one. "Where's your shorts?" And this one. "Why don't you have any clothes on?" And this one. "Why did you do that???" And of course, we can't forget this one. "What ARE you doing?"

Minnie Mouse birthday invitations! My friend from high school and I hooked up on facebook this last year and she is a scrapbooking queen. She has a cool cricut cutter and holy smokes - she can do anything with that sucker! So, I wrangled asked her to help me with Baby Girl's first birthday invitations. I think they turned out simply adorable. Wouldn't you agree?

Be sure and check out my friend April's website, she will help you with your scrapbooking, notecard or party needs!

I'm Lovin' It!

If you happen to be a coffee junkie like me, here's a treat for 'ya!

Because I'm doing the 6 week Biggest Loser challenge at my gym, I decided to cut WAY back on my Starbucks addiction. So, one day I got the itch for some caffeine and coffee. Let me tell you. If you are trying to cut calories, and increase your workouts at the same time then . . . if you're me, you take a nap.

And are tired. Every. Day.

So, after a couple weeks a coffee treat seemed to be what the doctor ordered.
Which by the way, Diet Dr. Pepper is yummy too. $1 for a large 32oz diet pop at McDonald's. YIPEE.
Back to my story about coffee.

Did you know that an iced, nonfat, sugar-free vanilla latte is only 50 calories??? Be still my beating heart! And after almost two weeks of no coffee, it tasted d.e.l.i.c.i.o.u.s. My friend tried to tell me I wouldn't miss coffee. Apparently, she needs to spend a little more time with me. This 13 year addiction just doesn't vanish overnight baby!

Funky Monkey Giveaway!

~GIVEAWAY CLOSED~
I was recently contacted and asked to try out the line of Funky Monkey snacks. We are always looking for great, healthy and even organic snacks and this product fit the bill. Funky Monkey Snacks are a great alternative to the common fruit snack. Not only that but they are toddler approved. At least by this toddler ;) So far our (mine & Luke's) favorite flavor is the Purple Funk, while Baby Girl didn't mind the Jivealime. You'll have to try them out for yourself!

Funky Monkey Snacks are made with 100% real fruit and contain no added sugar, preservatives, colors or flavors. Using an original and proprietary freeze-drying process, about 97% of the moisture content of the fruit is removed, producing a crisp, crunchy, go-anywhere snack that contains three of the four daily recommended servings of fruit.

Funky Monkey Snacks are gluten-free, wheat-free, dairy-free and are certified Kosher-Parve. The snacks are ideal for kids and grownups on-the-go who are looking for a crunchy, delicious, fun and healthful alternative to chips or candy.

Now the fun part is that you have the opportunity to win one pouch of each flavor of Funky Monkey Snacks! These four flavors include: Bananamon, Carnaval Mix, Jivealime, & Purple Funk (this one includes the infamous acai berry)!

200th Blog Post

This is my 200th blog post. While I thought about and prepared for a giveaway (albeit, last minute) I decided to leave you with one of my finer moments of everyday life. As for a giveaway, I'll be doing one on Monday!

Today, while getting ready to attend a Bridal shower luncheon, I was putting on my eye makeup. While applying my eyeliner, I realized it wasn't looking right. It was fat, and the lines weren't straight, there were gaps in the line etc.

I took my thin eye liner brush, brushed on some more black liner and tried to even out the lines. No go. Grabbed a q-tip to smug the lines. Nothing worked. Okay. I was quickly running outta time.

I grabbed a bottle of Mary Kay's Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover and decided to start over. I doused my q-tips and started scrubbing away. Kinda weird. This eye makeup remover should take it right off.

Stupid liner. Maybe it's old, I thought.

While scrubbing off the liner from the second eye both eyes started to burn a little. I grabbed the bottle again. While picking it up I realized it wasn't the right bottle.

I suddenly realized I had run out of the Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover. GASP. WHAT WAS I USING??? My Blemish Control (for acne) Toner. On. My. Eyes.

And that folks - is my mindless mommy brained moment of the week.

I Wanna Be The Biggest Loser

I've mentioned before how much I love to watch the show, Biggest Loser. The transformation that takes place from the first week to the end of the show blows me away every season. Well, Baker and I decided it's high time we start spending some hard core time devoted to getting in shape. Baker use to be an avid runner & work out 2hrs a day, (he ran the Portland Marathon right before we started dating) and I use to not be fat. HA! Okay, I cheered in high school and college. I was a size 4 when I started dating Baker.

So fast forward to today after three moves, and three pregnancies, and two babies later and well . . . Baker has to use an inhaler now and I have never ran a mile straight except back in gym class. Sad. SO. SAD. But! We signed up for the Biggest Loser 6 week challenge at our gym and we are committed. We aren't going to be apathetic about our health anymore.

One of the things I committed to do is take a strength training class two days a week at the gym. You know what happens when a flabby, out of shape, momma takes an hour long weights class? She takes a two hour afternoon nap with her babies. No joke folks. That class kicks my butt. So if you wanna know where some of my bloggy time has gone . . . it's to the gym, to shower, and then nap.

I ♥ naps.

While Dad's Away . . . Chaos Happens.

This weekend Baker was away spending time with his dad and brother and the kids and I had quite the adventures. During that time the following happened:

- I had plans to get together with my friend and her kids from Seattle. Nat had fever blisters and the plans were cancelled because she was contagious. Then, another friend who was going to help me make Baby Girl's birthday invites was sick and had to reschedule too. All was not lost, I still had a sitter and my sister and I went to a movie. While at the mall I ran into a childhood friend who I hadn't seen in ages. We exchanged numbers and want to get together soon.
SO FUN!

- Baby girl was fighting fever blisters and canker sores (in & surrounding her mouth) and slept horribly. Waking up every 2 hours throughout the night. Mommy slept from 1-2:45ish and again from 4:15am - 7:15am. (ICK).

- Prior to leaving for breakfast, Natalie fell down the stairs. Apparently, after very little sleep, I managed to not remember to latch the gate at the top of the stairs. She was so calm about the whole thing. I was shaking and trying so hard not to cry. After that, I told the kiddos that we needed to pray. We needed to thank Jesus for protecting Natalie from being hurt. Ya'll . . . there wasn't a bump or scratch on her. I decided right then and there that whatever else may happen that we were gonna praise and worship the Lord the rest of the day.

- We went to breakfast, Nana treated the kiddos to new toys with a trip to Toys 'R Us and Target and then we headed home for naps. Grandma Jean and Papa came to sit for an hour or so during nap time so I could head to the gym. THANK YOU!!! For dinner we went out with my sister. Upon walking into the restaurant Luke tripped and skinned up his arm. He doesn't usually cry. He had tears and sucked them up so fast. He was such the trooper.

- While at dinner my mom left a message on my phone. My Grandpa got admitted to the hospital. The consensus was dehydration and he is doing fine.

- Sunday was much less eventful, except I called poison control mid-morning because Luke decided to bite open a Disney plastic ice cube with a water like solution and drink it. I wasn't sure what it was, but decided to be safe rather than sorry. I got some classy advice from the nurse. "Give him extra fluids today. Not so much that he becomes bloated and vomits." Okay, seriously? WHO DOES THAT? Besides apparently, he is wanting more fluids. HA!

- All in all, Sunday was a good day and we got to meet up with my friend and her family before they went home to Seattle.

Honestly, I'm hoping for an uneventful week.
